ON-REQUEST RURAL SNOW CLEARING
YOUR PROPERTY. YOUR CALL.
Not every driveway needs clearing each time it snows, and not every property owner needs a full-season snow-removal contract.
Holmes Services offers on-request, tractor-operated snow clearing for rural driveways, private lanes and property approaches.
We don’t automatically arrive because five centimetres of snow has fallen. You contact us when you need help, and we confirm the work based on conditions, equipment suitability and availability.
No automatic snowfall-triggered visits.
Individual service requests welcome.
Work confirmed before dispatch.
Only visiting occasionally? Request clearing ahead of a planned stay, family gathering or property visit, rather than arranging automatic visits while the property is unused.
Give us as much notice as possible so we can review your timing.
Comfortable managing lighter snowfall yourself? Request machine-operated help when heavier accumulation, drifting or a snowbank becomes more than you want to tackle.
We’ll review the conditions and whether our equipment is suitable.
Sometimes you don’t need a recurring service—you need a driveway entrance opened, a private lane cleared or a suitable municipal-plow bank dealt with.
Tell us what is blocking your access and we’ll review the request.
A seasonal contract can make sense when you want regular clearing after qualifying snowfalls. Our on-request option works differently: you decide when to ask for a visit, rather than having visits triggered automatically by a snowfall threshold.
For properties that need occasional help, that flexibility may be a better fit than committing to a full winter of automatic clearing. Individual requests let you discuss the work and proposed charges before deciding to proceed.
If you need routine attendance after each qualifying snowfall, a scheduled seasonal service may suit you better. On-request clearing does not guarantee a place on an automatic storm route or a lower total cost over the winter.
An individual request does not require a full-season automatic-clearing commitment. Agreed service terms, charges and customer responsibilities still apply. Separately agreed seasonal arrangements remain unchanged.
Tractor-operated clearing for the driveways, lanes and property approaches that need more than a shovel.
Rural driveway clearing.
Private-lane and property-approach access.
Suitable snowbank reduction and entrance-opening work.
Mechanical snow clearing only. Widening, tree removal, haul-away and excavation are outside this service.

Tell us your nearest town, approximate driveway length, current snow conditions, access restrictions and preferred timing.
We check the request against weather, route capacity, equipment suitability and safe access, then discuss the scope, charges and possible timing.
Once the work and arrangements are agreed, we confirm the visit. Sending a request alone does not reserve a time or dispatch equipment.
Planning a cottage arrival or property visit? Contact us ahead of time rather than waiting until you need immediate access.
Service is subject to weather, route capacity, equipment suitability and safe access. Gravel surfaces may retain a packed snow base. Manual hand-shovelling is not offered.
Emergency response, exact arrival times and 24/7 availability are not guaranteed. Each request is reviewed individually.
Grit pails are a separate supply product for customer application. Ask about starter pails or an eligible empty-for-full refill swap, with the quantities you need.
Availability, refill eligibility and delivery arrangements are confirmed with Holmes. Supply/drop-off only; we do not apply salt, sand or grit.
Planned service — register your interest
Tell us about a machine-cleared access path the tractor cannot reach, such as access to an outbuilding. This planned service is not available to book. Equipment, clearance limits, scope and pricing must be approved before service begins.
This is not hand shovelling or tank servicing, and does not guarantee that a path meets a delivery company’s requirements.
Tell us where you are and what needs clearing. We’ll review your request and let you know what we can arrange.
On-request service means a visit is requested and confirmed—not immediate dispatch.
